Joe Vanderhoff
Joseph A. Vanderhoff is a graduate student at the University of Denver studying clinical counseling psychology with a focus on existential-humanism and neuroscience. He is also certified in positive psychology through the University of Pennsylvania. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University in analytic philosophy and religious studies and was awarded membership to the Golden Key International Honor Society while studying there. Additionally, he attended classes at Berklee College of Music and performed as a professional musician for two decades. During that time, he wrote, recorded, and toured regionally and nationally. He continues to write, record, and teach music, nurturing his lifelong passion for the creative arts.
Vanderhoff is a member of the American Psychological Association and affiliated with divisions dedicated to existential-humanism, psychoanalysis, clinical neuropsychology, and group psychotherapy (Divisions 32, 39, 40, and 49). He currently works in private practice, seeing clients for both individual and group process psychotherapy, and has co-led overnight nature-based therapy retreats around Colorado. His approach to therapy is an amalgamation of existential, humanistic, and psychodynamic modalities with a focus on authentic connection and growth. With his creative background in music, love of nature, and passion for understanding the human experience, he strives to create deep and meaningful connections to foster interpersonal and intrapersonal growth in clients.
